1. Information you enter into CareTrove
Users may choose to enter care-related information into the app, including care profiles, medication details, appointment details, notes, tasks, reminders, emergency contacts, document records, packet/export information, local JSON export data, and iCloud backup snapshot data when using CareTrove Plus backup and restore.
This information is entered by the user and is used to provide the app's organization features. Because users may choose to enter health or caregiving information, they should avoid entering information they do not want stored on their device or in their iCloud backup.
2. Local-first storage
CareTrove stores user-entered app data locally on the user's device by default. CareTrove does not require a CareTrove account or proprietary login. CareTrove does not require users to send care records to CareTrove to use the app.
3. CareTrove Plus iCloud backup and restore
CareTrove Plus adds user-initiated iCloud backup and restore for supported care records. When a user creates an iCloud backup, backup data is stored in the user's Apple iCloud account through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services.
Use of iCloud is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policies. Users are responsible for their Apple ID, iCloud settings, and device security.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
CareTrove Pro and CareTrove Plus purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. CareTrove does not receive full payment card details. Users can manage subscriptions through their Apple ID settings.
5. Website
The CareTrove website is a static informational website. It does not use analytics, advertising trackers, cookies, or contact forms.
6. Support email
If a user emails Contact@caretrove.app, CareTrove will receive the information included in that email, such as the email address, message content, and any attachments the user chooses to send.
Users should avoid sending sensitive medical details by email unless they are comfortable doing so. Support emails are used to respond to support, privacy, app access, or data questions.
7. Data sharing and sale
CareTrove does not sell user data. CareTrove does not use user data for third-party advertising. CareTrove does not track users across apps and websites.
CareTrove may disclose information if required by law or to respond to valid legal process, but because the app is local-first, most app records remain on the user's device or in the user's Apple iCloud account when iCloud backup is used.
8. Data deletion and control
Users can delete records inside the app. Users can delete the app from their device. Users can manage iCloud data through Apple iCloud settings and CareTrove's backup and restore tools where available.
Because data is local-first and iCloud backups are tied to the user's Apple iCloud account, some deletion actions must be performed by the user on their device or through Apple settings. Deleting the app may remove local data depending on iOS behavior and the user's device settings.
9. Information about other people
If a user enters information about another person, the user is responsible for having appropriate permission or authority to do so. CareTrove is not designed as a public sharing service or social network.
10. Security
CareTrove is designed with a local-first approach. Users should protect devices with passcodes or biometrics and keep iOS updated. iCloud backup security depends on the user's Apple ID and iCloud settings.
No system can promise absolute security. Users should keep their device, Apple ID, and iCloud account protected.
11. Medical disclaimer
CareTrove is an organization tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency services, medication instructions, dosing recommendations, or professional care instructions.
Users should follow guidance from qualified professionals. For urgent medical or safety issues, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
